PATGirl.jpg (5584 bytes)Q. What happens if I want to have a holiday?
A. Please ensure that your establishment knows when you will not be available so that the clients are not waiting for you to visit.

Q. I have been asked to get a CRB check by the establishment I am going to visit. Do I have to get this done?
A. If the establishment requires that you have a CRB check, we must abide by their rules.

Q. What should I do if my dog is too unwell to visit?
A. Please let your establishment know that you will be away for a while and keep them in touch as they will certainly want to know how their PAT dog is doing.

Q. What should I do when my bitch is in season?
A. You should not visit with a bitch in season, please let the establishment know.

Q. How do I find somewhere to visit?
A. Your first ‘port of call’ is your allocated Pets As Therapy contact, normally an Area Co-ordinator. If they are unable to offer you somewhere to visit, please contact the Pets As Therapy Placement Officer, Vanessa Bonner.

Q. Does my dog have to wear a coat?
A. No this is an optional extra, although if your dog does wear a coat it allows you to be immediately recognized as a Pets As Therapy volunteer.

Q. I pay by standing order, why does my ID card run out before I get a new one?
A. We are unable to process renewals until the money has been received into our bank account and appears on our bank statement, which we receive weekly. There is usually a delay of a couple of weeks. If this causes a problem with your establishment ask them to ring us and we will reassure them that this is O.K.

Q. How do I log onto the members part of the website?
A. You need to use your email address, your ID number and your computer must be set to accept cookies. If this does not work, please check that you have given us your latest email address.
