Our Trustees are volunteers who bring a wide range of knowledge, expertise and experience to our charity. They advise and assist with decision making and approve our strategic and business plans, as well as our annual budget.
Sarah became a Trustee of Pets As Therapy in 2017 and Chair of Trustees in December 2023.
She has over 40 years’ experience in a variety of commercial, charity and volunteer roles ranging from international corporations to national charities and small business turnarounds. Sarah is currently the Chief Operating Officer of a leading barristers’ chambers in London.
She has worked pro-bono with the National Trust, in development for an FE institution, founded and run a youth awards scheme, helped save a village hall and is a Trustee of a London choir.
Sue has been a nurse since she was 19 years old and has worked in many areas of mental health services, including CAMHS and dementia services.
She’s witnessed the power of animal-assisted therapy, and after seeing a PAT Dog – a Labrador called George – at work in an older people’s ward, she decided to become a PAT Volunteer.
Sue lives in Cwmgiedd in South Wales and has four giant dogs - two St Bernards, a Newfoundland and a Great Dane. They all take it in turns to accompany her to work as Director of a charity that supports adults in recovery from addiction.
Ian became a Trustee for Pets As Therapy in November 2021. He has worked in various digital/IT roles in since 1990 in consumer goods, retail and healthcare.
Ian is currently a non-executive director at Housing Solutions, a housing association based in Berkshire, where he is head of the Remuneration Committee.
Previous to that, Ian was Chief Information Officer at ConvaTec, a FTSE 100 Medical Device company and the retailer WHSmith. He also worked at Reckitt Benckiser and Procter & Gamble.
Hemnomita became a Trustee for Pets As Therapy in June 2023. She has worked in various finance roles since 2003 in industry and the not-for-profit sector.
Hemnomita is currently the Senior Group Finance Operations Manager at IAGL where she leads the Group Finance Operations for a global aviation loyalty business.
Prior to this, Hemnomita has held senior finance roles in sectors such as aviation, travel, logistics and audit, managing end-to-end finance operations, shared services, transformation, group reporting and compliance. She is also a certified SAFe and Agile practitioner with a people-first mindset.
Louise became a Trustee in June 2023. She has worked in exporting and logistics, corporate support, fundraising, volunteer management and engagement roles across her career, and full time in the charity sector since 2007.
Louise is currently Head of Community Income & Fundraising Operations at St John Ambulance, where she leads the charity’s community and challenge event fundraising, as well as the wider fundraising operations including restricted funding, CRM and data integrity and fundraising policy governance.
Previously, Louise was Development Manager at the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, growing community fundraising to over £15million per annum and fundraising governance.
Jannine is a qualified accountant and holds an MBA from Cranfield University. During her time with The Linde Group, she's held several senior finance roles in the US, UK, Ireland and South Africa.
For the past six years, she has worked in the not-for-profit/professional body sector as Chief Operating Officer for CIPS and AAT. Jannine is now deputy CEO of The Royal Kennel Club.
Jannine's career includes over 20 years’ experience in business transformation, strategy and cultural development.
Helen is passionate about volunteering, having seen its positive impact in her own life, and is thrilled to be a Trustee at Pets As Therapy.
She has had a wide and varied career, supporting children, families and older people, and has previously volunteered for homelessness and wellbeing charities.
In her spare time, Helen enjoys agility training with her Cavalier King Charles spaniel, Luca, cooking and running a book club for fans of crime fiction.
Alex Morton became a Trustee in May 2023. She brings extensive NHS management experience, spanning hospital operations, regional healthcare planning, front-line improvement, national policy delivery and healthcare strategy.
She is currently Group Director-Primary Care, NHS England, overseeing primary care services across England.
Previously Alex was Regional Director-Primary Care and Public Health Commissioning, North East and Yorkshire. She’s held national director roles for the NHS and worked as a senior civil servant, Department of Health. Alex has worked extensively in Yorkshire holding roles in commissioning organisations and regionally as a specialist in improvement and hospital reconfiguration. Alex’s career began in hospital management.
Peter has been a PAT Volunteer at Kingston and Richmond NHS Trust since 2019 and became a Trustee the same year. He is also an elected Governor of the Trust and undertakes several other volunteer roles.
During his career, Peter led several large organisations providing specialist professional and operational support in the property and services industries, as well as undertaking voluntary roles in organisations including the Civic Trust, the Met Police and the Premier League.
Peter is passionate about fostering greater community involvement and raising awareness of the benefits that animal-assisted interventions can offer.
