With just over two weeks to go until our Walk This May challenge, we caught up with PAT Volunteer Lauren Cunningham, who took part last year – and is one of 184 supporters who have already signed up to walk 100km this May.

“I signed up for Walk This May in 2025 because I see what a visit from a dog or cat means to people every week, and I want to bring that joy to as many others as possible,” Lauren smiles. “I am very proud to be a volunteer with Pets As Therapy and Walk This May helped me spread the word of what we do, while raising important funds to support the service.”

Friends and family joined me at various points of the challenge and I don’t think I’ve have managed to finish without them – especially on days when the Scottish weather was working against us!”

Walk This May is a 100km walking challenge throughout May and helps us to raise vital funds, so Pets As Therapy can provide more moments of magic in more hospitals, schools, care homes and community spaces across the UK.
